Each School can send upto 8 entries in each group.
Note: There should be a minimum of eight participants from eight different schools in a particular age-group for that particular event for Boys and minimum of six participants from six different schools in a particular age-group for that particular event for Girls, otherwise that event stands cancelled.
IDENTITY CARD:
a) The School is required to prepare an Identity Card (physical/hard copy) for every participant and accompanying official/coach/teacher/sports coordinator. The required format for the ID card has been attached to the tournament email that was sent to you. Do not edit the standard contents of the ID card.
i) be sure to add a latest passport size colour photograph
ii) fill all accurate details of the participant and accompanying official/coach/teacher/sports coordinator.
iii) all ID cards are required to be attested by the School’s authority - Principal/Vice Principal/Headmaster/Headmistress/or Supervisor
iv) the ID card has to be possessed at all times during the course of the tournament.
b) The MSSA Registration Number printed on the card will remain permanent through the course of the tournament.
c) Every player participating in the competition/event must carry his/her Identity Card
and should produce the same on demand before the commencement of every match to the Official, Referee or Venue-In-charge. This is mandatory, failing which, they will not be allowed to take part in the competition / event.
Players will only be permitted to enter the Court after the Identity Cards, duly filled in, are deposited with the Venue-In-Charge or the Umpire/Referee-in-Charge of the match
Please Note: “No Card No Participation”. (If the teacher/coach is not present at the time of checking and during the match the team may not be allowed to play).
Competitors must report along with the Sports Master 30 minutes before the commencement of their game to the Hon. Referee. This will be applicable to first round matches.
All games will be played under the Swiss League System, Number of rounds will depend on the number of competitors in each group and i.e. 7 or more. Each Competitor must play all the rounds under this system irrespective of win, loss or draw.
Each Competitor will get 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw and 0 point for defeat. The Competitor who leads on points after the prescribed number of rounds will be declared the Winner.
Important: If the result is not given to the referee both the players will be given 0 point.
In case of a tie (equal points) the tie will be broken in the order: (1) Progressive, (2) Cut Progressive, (3) Toss.
Time-limit for Play-Off and Senior and Junior Boys/Girls: The Referee at his discretion can introduce Chess Clocks on the board before the commencement of the game or during the game.
If a Competitor remaining absent for consecutive two rounds without the prior permission from the Referee, his/her name will be struck off from future rounds. A walk-over will be treated as per the instruction of the Chief Arbiter.
The Organizing Secretary along with the Referee will be the final authority regarding walk-over, which cannot be claimed by any competitor as a matter of right.
All other rules and regulations as per rules followed by F.I.D.E. (International Chess Body) will be applied. However, changes if any will be announced prior to the rounds.
If any Competitor wishes to withdraw after the draw is made, no refund shall be given and the money shall be forfeited.
The decision of the Tournament Committee on all matters connected with the tournament will be final and binding.
Fide rated players are requested to fill their Fide Rating in the entry form columns.
Protest:Any protest, if at all lodged, must be done through the accredited Sports-in-Charge/Teacher-in-Charge/Coach of the team within half an hour of the conclusion of the match along with the protest Fee of Rs. 5,000/-. The said protest should be endorsed by the Head of the School within 24 hours after the conclusion of the match. In case if the 24 hours falls on a Sunday or a Holiday, then it must be brought before 12.00 noon on the following day. The protest must be handed over to the Game Secretary.
Please Note: The protest once decided by the Executive Committee of the Association will be final and binding and shall not be disputed by any of the parties concerned in any forum thereafter.

Prizes: Certificates will be awarded to the first 10 (ten) positions and medals to the first 3 (three) positions.
“The Asian Age Overall Championship Trophy will be awarded to the school that secures maximum points in all the age Groups.”
TROPHIES / SHIELDS / CUPS:
It is resolved that since the Association’s Trophies /Shields / Cups are very old, valuable, precious and have sentimental value, the practice of allowing the school to carry away the Trophies / Shields / Cups will be continued by signing a BOND between the winning school and the Association. The Trophies / Shields / Cups will be presented to the recipient at the Prize Distribution Function of the respective EVENTS and will be allowed to be taken by the winning school and kept in possession for a week (7 days) only and the same will returned to the Association’s office before the expiry of the date of the Bond in the same condition as it was presented.
In case of any damage or loss of the Trophies / Shields / Cups, the winning school will have to pay the cost of the damage or loss of the said trophies / shields / cups valued at the present price.
However the trophies / shields / cups will not be given to students or parents but only to the accredited representative of the winning school.
VERY IMPORTANT: Headmasters/Headmistresses, being absolutely responsible when submitting the List of Players, must be very careful to see that the Dates of Birth are correctly entered as per the School General Register. Very often, though no fault of the Headmasters/Headmistress, Schools have been found fielding overage students and the schools have been disqualified. This brings disrepute to your school. Moreover a fine of Rs. 5,000/- will be imposed on any school found fielding overaged players in any group. In case of school found fielding overaged players, the same will be notified to all Members Schools and made public through the press, after ratification by the Executive Committee.
Schools walking out of the competition or disrespecting Prize Distribution Ceremony will also be fined Rs. 5,000/- and action will be taken against the school as per the resolution of the Association.
VERY IMPORTANT: (HEADMASTERS/HEADMISTRESSES OF SCHOOLS ARE REQUESTED TO KINDLY PUT THIS ON THEIR NOTICE BOARDS AS WE FEEL IT WOULD BENEFIT THE PARTICIPANT AND WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEM ON AND OFF THE FIELD. HEADS OF PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS/SPORTS-IN-CHARGE/COACHES SHOULD READ THE RULES AND REGULATIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE SENDING THE ENTRIES.
