GENERAL:-
a) A Competitor of a lower age group can take part in a higher age group but only in one
age group. Team Championship is open to all age-groups (up to 16 years of age)
b) Bonafide students of the School from Std. I to Std. X having their names on the rolls
(in the General Register and on the Class Register) of the school on or before August 1,
2021 are eligible.
NOTE: Students appearing as private candidates for Mumbai Divisional Board/National
Open School (Delhi Board) from their respective school will not be allowed to
participate
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS:- Each school can send up to two entries in Seniors and
Juniors.
Team Championships: Each School may send a team of 8 players. Any 6 players can
play the singles match and any 2 can play the doubles matches. Players shall be from the
listed players only. Each tie will be completed in one session only. No changes /
substitution of players will be allowed once the draw has been made.
Note: There should be a minimum of eight participants from eight different schools in a
particular age-group for that particular event for boys and a minimum of six
participants from six different schools in a particular ag
IDENTITY CARD:
a) The School is required to prepare an Identity Card (physical/hard copy) for every
participant and accompanying official/coach/teacher/sports coordinator. The
required format for the ID card has been attached to the tournament email that was
sent to you. Do not edit the standard contents of the ID card.
i) be sure to add a latest passport size colour photograph
ii) fill all accurate details of the participant and accompanying
official/coach/teacher/sports coordinator.
iii) all ID cards are required to be attested by the School’s authority -
Principal/Vice Principal/Headmaster/Headmistress/or Supervisor
iv) the ID card has to be possessed at all times during the course of the
tournament.
b) The MSSA Registration Number printed on the card will remain permanent
through the course of the tournament.
c) Every player participating in the competition/event must carry his/her Identity
Card and should produce the same on demand before the commencement of every
match to the Official, Referee or Venue-In-charge. This is mandatory, failing
which, they will not be allowed to take part in the competition / event.
d) Players will only be permitted to enter the Court after the Identity Cards, duly
filled in, are deposited with the Venue-In-Charge or the Umpire/Referee-in-Charge
of the match.
PLEASE NOTE: “No Digital Card No Participation”. (The teacher/coach must be
present at the time of checking and during the match or the participant may not be
allowed to play).
Protest:
Any protest, if at all lodged must be done through the accredited Sports-inCharge/Teacher-in-Charge/Coach of the team within half an hour of the conclusion of the
match along with the protest Fee of Rs. 5,000/-. The said protest should be endorsed by
the Head of the School within 24 hours after the conclusion of the match. In case if the 24
hours falls on a Sunday or a Holiday, then it must be brought before 12.00 noon on the
the following day. The protest must be handed over to the Game Secretary.
Please Note: The protest once decided by the Executive Committee of the
Association will be final and binding and shall not be disputed by any of the
parties concerned in any other forum thereafter
Prizes: Certificates and Medals will be awarded to the Winners, Runners-Up and
Third Place.
IMPORTANT: Headmasters/Headmistresses, being absolutely
responsible when filling the List of Players, must be very careful to see that the
Dates of Birth are correctly entered as per the School General Register. Very often,
though no fault of the Headmasters/Headmistress, Schools have been found
fielding over age students and the schools have been disqualified. This brings
disrepute to your school. Moreover a fine of Rs.5,000/- will be imposed on any
school found fielding over aged players in any group. In case of a school found
fielding over aged players, the same will be notified to all Member Schools and
made public through the press.
Schools walking out of the competition or disrespecting Prize Distribution
Ceremony will also be fined Rs. 5,000/- and action will be taken against the school
as per the resolution of the Association.
IMPORTANT: In case your students have any rank/seeding in Inter School or last
years’ MSSA /State / Nationals, please mention it in the Entry form.
Kindly note you are sending the entries after accepting our terms and conditions of
the tournament.
OTHERS:
a) Except as otherwise provided of the Rules by the Tournament Committee,
the laws of the Badminton Association of India will apply to this
tournament.
b) Shuttle corks selected by the tournament organizers only will be used for
the matches. The Organizers reserve the right of selecting the shuttle corks
of their choice.
b) If the shuttle corks strikes the ceiling or girders during play, it shall be a
fault against the player striking it.
a) All matches from Quarter Finals will be the best of three games of
21 points.
b) All matches up to Pre-Quarter Finals will be of one single game, i.e. Boys
21 points and Girls 15 points.
c) If the Score is tied at game point-all (e.g. in a game of 21 points i.e. 20-20)
no setting will be allowed. The player who wins the next point, wins the
game.
d) Team Championships will be the best of three games i.e. 2 Singles and a
Doubles. (Doubles match will be played only in case of tie i.e. the match
score is one all).
e) In the team Championship both singles will be played First. In case of a tie
(one-all) only the Doubles shall be played.
f) A competitor not reporting at the time notified will at the discretion of the
Chief Referee is liable to be scratched.
g) The Tournament Committee’s decision on all matters shall be final and
binding.
a) Play will commence at the time mentioned in the programme at a glance
but the Tournament Committee reserves the right to start earlier or delay the
matches, then the scheduled time as and when necessary and in
extra-ordinary cases. If necessary unfinished matches may be carried over
the following day.
b) Competitors who are due to play on a particular day are required to report
to the Chief Referee immediately on arrival at the Court on such day and
time.
c) The Chief Referee will be the final Authority regarding Walk-over, which
cannot be claimed by any competitor as a matter of right.
d) In case of dispute, the decision of the Tournament Committee in all matters
connected with the tournament shall be final and binding on the
competitors.
e) Line Judges may not be appointed for the matches till the quarter finals.
f) Every Competitor present on the Courts shall be bound if called by the
Chief Referee to Umpire or work as line judge.
g) Competitors must report along with the accredited sports
in-charge/Teacher-in-charge/Coach, 30 minutes before the commencement
of their match to the Chief Referee. Failing to report at the prescribed time,
the Chief Referee shall have the right to refuse participation.
h) The Chief Referee shall have the authority to fix matches on any court he
deems fit. Preference will not be given to the players of their choice of
court.
i) If any Competitor / Team wishes to withdraw after submitting the entries,
no refund shall be made and the entry fee will be forfeited.
j) If any Competitor / Team withdraws after the Draw has been made, the
concerned school shall submit the reason in writing to the Association.
Failure to do so may result in action being taken.
Clothing:
For Boys: T-Shirts will be predominantly white, shorts shall be either
white, blue or black. White socks and Gum Sole Shoes/Badminton shoes
(No burmudas will be allowed.)
For Girls: T-Shirts will be predominantly white. They can wear either
white, blue, black skirts or shorts. White Socks and Gum Sole Shoes /
Badminton shoes (No burmudas will be allowed.)
a) Any competitor who fails to comply with the dress code will not be allowed
to participate in the Tournament.
b) Players shall wear T-Shirts, Shorts, Skirts (incase of Girls). No Burmudas
will be allowed.
c) Players shall wear only white socks, white canvas shoes, or
Badminton shoes.
d) Players shall not wear sleeveless T-Shirts.
e) Players will not be allowed to wear T-Shirts/Shorts, with advertisement,
Commercial Promotional contents (including State/ National Private
Sponsors).
Equipment:
a) Players shall wear only non-marking shoes on court. Soles of the shoes
shall not be Black/Blue/ Grey.
b) Players will not be allowed to play bare-footed.
c) Players shall bring their own Rackets for the Tournaments.
d) Only white canvas shoes / Badminton should be worn (Sandals or coloured
shoes will not be permitted)
a) Qualifying Rounds in Individuals Events shall be held if necessary before
the Tournament Proper begins.
b) IMPORTANT: Request for postponement of matches / re-scheduling will
not be granted.
a) SEEKING COACHING :
Seeking coaching during play, except as permitted under the laws of
Badminton, communication of any kind, audible or visible between a player
and coach, shall be construed as coaching.
AUDIBLE-VISIBLE-ORAL OBSCENITY:
Players shall not indulge in using indecent language. Players shall not make
obscene or offensive meaning gestures with Hands/Racket/ Shuttle towards
the opponent / Spectators.
b) ORAL/PHYSICALABUSE:
Players shall not make statements against officials/ opponent/spectators or
any other person, that implies dishonesty or is derogatory, insulting.
c) RACKET ABUSE:
Players shall not intentionally or violently hit the Racket / shuttle, etc.
against the net / court / umpires chair.
d) TEACHERS IN CHARGE / COACHES / PARENTS of players shall
not make statements within the precincts of the tournaments site, which is
directed at officials / organizers etc., that implies dishonesty, insulting or
otherwise abusive. Any oral or unauthorized touching of Officials/
Organisers shall be regarded as physical abuse and gross mis-conduct.
e) CEREMONY PROTOCOL:
A player participating in the FINAL must attend the prize Distribution
Ceremony. The player shall be dressed in Badminton Player Clothing/Track
Suit/ School Uniform ONLY.
f) If any player has been ranked or seeded in last years Inter School
Tournament (MSSA)/State/National, Kindly mention it in the Entry form.
a) Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter any of the above rules or
inculcate additional rules, during the course of the tournament as and when
necessary.
b) Schools are requested to submit their entries after ascertaining their
availability for the tournament. No Block dates / Postponement of Matches
for Examination / Test / Parallel Tournament, will be permitted nor
entertained.
c) PROTEST/ COMPLAINTS
No Protest /Complaint by Parents /Competitors will be entertained. Only
accredited Teachers/Coaches whose names are mentioned in the entry forms
may do so.
